Bitcoin Pizza Day

Bitcoin Pizza Day is the annual celebration of the first real-world transaction with Bitcoin involving 10,000 Bitcoins for 2 pizzas.

At Bitcoin’s peak price of $64,800 on April 14, 2021, those two pizza were worth $648,000,000 USD.

The event was initiated by Crypto Maffia, a Swiss-based blockchain and cryptocurrency marketing firm. May 22 is marked as the day in 2010 when a programmer from Florida, who goes by the handle “Laszlo”, used 10,000 Bitcoins to buy 2 pizzas from another programmer in England, who goes by the handle “Jercos”.

The man who ate $640,000,000 USD?

On this day, everybody who deals with cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based businesses comes together to celebrate the first real-world transaction with Bitcoin.

The event also serves as a reminder that with the rise of technology, nothing is impossible. What once started as a way to buy some pizza has now become an asset worth thousands of dollars.

How to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day?
